Despite a troubled start where Eye Luv Lulu was slammed coming out of the gate, shut off and pinched back - significantly compromising him; the determined 3yr old gelding by Pollard's Vision, owned by Donald Newman, battled back gamely, getting up for 3rd place in the $150k New York Derby, run on July 12th at Finger Lakes.
After crossing the finish line, the Stewards did indeed determine that Eye Luv Lulu had been compromised, and moved him up to 2nd Place after a disqualification of the offending participant. "Lulu" has now banked over $156K for Mr. Newman - congratulations again to him and his entire wonderful family!!
