REDEMPTION FOR STONE COLD FLIRT!

In her first career start at Saratoga on August 28th, Martin Racing expected Stone Cold Flirt to give a good accounting of herself. Yes, the 2yr. old filly by sire Yes Its True was running against Maiden Special Weight company at one of the toughest racing meets in the nation but still, Stone Cold Flirt had been training forwardly and shown some talent in her morning outings. So, it may have seemed surprising that she appeared to have been eased in that spot, however, a closer look at the running lines revealed the issue.

At the break of that contest, she had been bumped hard and her rider, in the process of being thrown off, took a hold of the edge of the saddle, pulling it to the side with him as he attempted to steady himself. Obviously, the saddle now out of place, would not allow the rider to keep control and he had to quickly ease Stone Cold Flirt up.

It was no surprise then, to see little support for the filly in yesterday's 3rd race at Belmont. Stone Cold Flirt, however, made believers of everyone and justified Carlos Martin's early assessment as she led from gate to wire and easily handled this MSW group, coming under the wire, an easy 3 & 1/2 length winner - completing the 6 Fur. in 1:12.17.

Congratulations to Owner Alex Kazdan on an exciting win and a big thank you for his continued support. Congratulations to groom, Ricardo Cisterna and of course to Carlos Martin and the entire team at Martin Racing Stables.
